The Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Mr. Haibat Al-Halbousi, received on Sunday the Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, Dr. Abbas Radi, who presented him with an official invitation to attend the Eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on 21–22 August 2026.
During the meeting, the Director of the Institute briefed the Speaker of Parliament on the key preparations and arrangements being undertaken by the conference’s preparatory committee, as well as the efforts made to ensure the success of its activities, with the participation of a distinguished group of political and academic figures and think tanks from Iraq.
For his part, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives praised the efforts of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue in promoting a culture of dialogue and strengthening communication among various parties, stressing the importance of intellectual and dialogue-based forums in addressing the issues and challenges facing Iraq and the region.
