Dr. Abbas Radi, Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, inaugurated on Saturday morning the Sixth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, attended by local and international political, diplomatic, and academic figures, with the participation of a select group of experts and researchers specializing in regional and international affairs.
In his opening remarks, Al-Ameri emphasized that Iraq has become a focal point for dialogue in the Middle East, particularly among competing parties, noting that Baghdad has succeeded in consolidating its position as a safe and trusted platform for exchanging ideas and building mutual understandings amid rapid regional transformations.
He explained that the Baghdad Dialogue Conference aims to continue supporting paths of regional integration and enhancing communication among countries of the region through in-depth discussions that contribute to shaping shared visions to confront political, security, and economic challenges, away from the logic of polarization and conflict.
Al-Ameri added that through organizing this conference, the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue seeks to support the role of think tanks in formulating realistic approaches that help decision-makers better understand regional and international developments, stressing that constructive dialogue remains the optimal path toward stability and sustainable development.
He pointed out that holding the sixth edition of the conference reflects growing confidence in Iraq’s role in hosting regional dialogues and embodies Iraq’s vision of serving as a bridge for communication and understanding among various parties, in a manner that serves the security and stability of the region.
The Sixth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference features specialized discussion sessions addressing regional integration, collective security, economic cooperation, and Iraq’s pivotal role in linking regional and international interests.
