The activities of the Sixth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference kicked off at exactly 9:00 a.m. last Saturday in the Grand Hall of the University of Baghdad, under the Golden Sponsorship of Al-Watani for Internet Services.
The conference, organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue in cooperation with the German CARPO Foundation for regional dialogue, was held under the title “Exploring Regional Connectivity and Iraq’s Central Role”, and lasted for two days.
The sixth international conference brought together a group of prominent experts from West Asia, Central Asia, Europe, and North Africa, with the aim of exploring regional connectivity. The participants included between 30 and 40 regional experts, in addition to Iraqi specialists, who discussed issues with the potential to stimulate regional cooperation and connectivity.
The topics addressed by the speakers included:
- Energy connectivity
- Environmental cooperation
- Opportunities for regional economic integration
- Collective approaches to global security
- Great powers’ perspectives on regional integration in the Middle East
