Sudani: We Have Laid Out a Comprehensive Program to Revive Iraq and Will Not Tolerate Any Misuse of Public Funds

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani inaugurated today, Sunday, the Fifth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, organized by the Iraqi Dialogue Institute under the theme (Iraq: Twenty Years… What Next?). The two-day conference brings together dozens of political, security, and economic figures from Iraq and abroad.

In his opening speech, Al-Sudani emphasized that “Iraq has regained its natural position as a hub for dialogue,” adding, “We are determined to restore Iraq to its rightful place.”

The Prime Minister highlighted that the government has laid out an ambitious program to advance the country and achieve political stability, stressing: “We will not tolerate any breach that leads to the exploitation of public funds.” He also stated, “Fighting corruption is a major battle, and the greatest challenge is restoring the trust of Iraqi citizens.”

Al-Sudani added that “the past, with all its destruction, is now a lesson for us, and we must demonstrate to the world that Iraq has the management capacity to rise and occupy the position it deserves.”

Following the Prime Minister’s address, the conference sessions commenced, including “Standing Firm in the Face of the Storm: Iraq and Climate Change”, followed by “Post-Oil: Iraq’s Energy Needs”, and the evening session “Factors for Improving the Investment Environment in Iraq”.
