Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, expressed his region’s full support for Iraq’s vital Development Road project during his speech at the 7th Baghdad International Dialogue on Saturday, describing it as a historic step.
Barzani stated, “We in the Kurdistan Region have always believed that political and economic stability across all of Iraq is a shared national interest, and that true development cannot be achieved without integration between Baghdad and Erbil, as well as between Iraq and its regional and international partners.”
He added, “From this perspective, we fully support this major Development Road project and look forward to it becoming a model of cooperation and constructive engagement among all regions and components of the country, from Zakho to Al-Faw, as well as between Iraq and its regional and international partners.”
Barzani emphasized, “Iraq’s stability cannot be separated from the stability of the region,” highlighting that the diversity of Iraqi society is a source of strength and wealth.
