Baghdad International Dialogue

The Baghdad International Dialogue is a high-level annual platform held in Iraq’s capital, bringing together decision-makers, government officials, diplomats, and experts in politics, security, economics, and energy. The dialogue aims to strengthen preventive diplomacy and support Iraq’s role as a bridge for communication and dialogue among regional and international actors.

It is organized by the Iraqi Dialogue Institute in cooperation with regional and international institutions. Participants include Iraqi government officials, political and diplomatic figures from the region and the world, as well as researchers and representatives from think tanks and international organizations.

The dialogue sessions focus on several key areas, including:

  • The future of regional security in the Middle East.
  • Iraq’s role in regional and international balances.
  • Management of regional conflicts and pathways to de-escalation.
  • Arab–Iranian and international relations.
  • Economic, political, and geostrategic transformations in the region.

The dialogue’s significance lies in its role as an important Track II diplomacy platform, providing a space to discuss ideas and understandings that may not be addressed through official channels. It also offers a clear perspective on Iraq’s foreign policy orientations and Baghdad’s strategy for promoting regional stability.
