Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani stated on Monday that pursuing economic reform must be accompanied by firm measures to combat corruption.
Al-Sudani participated today in a dialogue session held as part of the activities of the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue.
During his address to participants, the Prime Minister outlined the government’s vision regarding the economy, foreign relations, service delivery, and governmental priorities, in addition to new projects included in the draft of the three-year federal budget law.
He explained the main guiding principles of Iraq’s approach to international relations, emphasizing balance, non-interference in internal affairs, and the protection of Iraq’s sovereignty.
Al-Sudani stressed that adopting economic reform as a pathway to progress and growth, and to meeting citizens’ needs and requirements, must go hand in hand with decisive anti-corruption measures. He noted that this approach aligns with the government program and responds to the aspirations of citizens across all parts of Iraq.
